The Changing of the Guard - A Living Tradition at the Heart of Royal Windsor

One of the most iconic ceremonies in Britain takes place right here on the streets of Windsor. The Changing of the Guard is a spectacle of military precision, centuries old tradition and pure British pageantry  and witnessing it in person is an experience you will never forget.

The ceremony typically takes place daily during the summer months and every other day during winter, though the schedule changes month to month. Always check the current schedule before your visit to avoid disappointment.

As the guards march between Windsor Castle and Victoria Barracks, the streets come alive - traffic stops, crowds gather and the atmosphere is unlike anything else. If you are lucky enough to visit on a day when a full marching band accompanies the regiment, you are in for something truly special. Different regiments rotate throughout the year, and occasionally their regimental mascots make an appearance too.
